Cardi B Narrates How She Was Sexually Assaulted During A Magazine Shoots [Video]
American female rapper, Cardi B has declared her support for the #MeToo movement and narrated how she was sexually assaulted during a magazine shoot.
During an interview series “Untold Stories of Hip-Hop” which premieres on Thursday, Cardi B said she will ‘never forget’ the time she was sexually assaulted during a photoshoot by a photographer who was attempting to coerce her into exchanging sex for coverage in a magazine.
“I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and the photographer, he was trying to get close to me like, “Yeah, you want to get in this magazine?”
“Then he pulled his d*** out. ‘I was so f***ing mad, and I was just like, “This is crazy.”‘
According to her, the magazine’s editor didn’t express any sympathy when she told him.
“I was like, ‘You’re f***ing bugging. You know what? I’m out. But you know what’s so crazy? I told the magazine owner and he just looked at me like, ‘So? And?’”
Cardi did not name the magazine title, the photographer or the editor in question.
Asked about her thoughts on the #MeToo movement, Cardi suggested that for many women living in the Bronx, where she was born and raised, sexual harassment is a regular occurrence.
“There’s girls from the hood I know that went through the same type of treatment, like they make you feel like you’ve got to do a certain type of thing for the most bulls*** s***,” she said. “It happens, really, every day.”
The 26-year-old rapper said if she were to be in such a situation ever again she would absolutely take no prisoners, saying: “Oh hell no, I’d put you on blast on my Instagram… I’ll f***ing violate” she joked.
