Dubai police has extradited alleged criminal mastermind Raymond Igbalode Abbas, known as ‘Hushpuppi’ and his accomplice, Olalekan Jacon Ponle, popular known as ‘Mr Woodberry’ to the United States.
KanyiDaily had reported that Hushpuppi and Woodberry were arrested in the United Arab Emirate, Dubai on June 10, 2020, for multiple fraud charges.
Dubai police on Thursday, June 25, revealed that the duo and their accomplices had defrauded over 1.9 million victims to the tune of $435.6 million (N168 billion).
In a statement on its social media page Thursday, June 2, 2020, Dubai Police confirmed it had extradited Hushpuppi and Woodberry to the US for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
FBI’s Director, Christopher Wray, thanked the Dubai Police for its role in apprehending and extraditing the two suspected cyber criminals.
KanyiDaily recalls that three days ago, journalist, Kemi Olunloyo disclosed that Hushpuppi and Mr Woodberry had already been extradited to the US, noting that both mem had already spend 9 days on Moshannon federal prison in Pennsylvania.
The journalist also disclosed that Woodberry has fell ill after nine days in the prison, adding that he’s currently receiving treatment.
