Aisha Calls Buhari ‘Biggest Hooligan’ in Nigeria, Commends #EndSARS Protesters [Video]

Human rights activist and co-convener of #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu has described President Muhammadu Buhari as the biggest hooligan in Nigeria.

Aisha made the remarks during a recent interview on Arise TV while reacting to President Buhari’s comment on acts of hooliganism in protests.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari had said Nigerians have the right to protest peacefully in accordance to democracy, but the government will not tolerate any acts of hooliganism.

He warned that any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country.

Reacting on Arise TV, Yesufu said it’s very disrespectful for politicians voted into office by citizens to be attributed to as hooligans.

The Fiery Activist said the only place where hooliganism is going on in Nigeria “it’s at the Aso villa and the president is the one presiding over it”.

“I think it’s very disrespectful for people that we put in office to keep looking at us and telling us all sorts of things and then citizens are the ones that are supposed to be respectful to the people in office.

“If there’s anywhere where there is hooliganism going on, I think it’s at the Aso Villa and the president is the one presiding over that and we’ve had to feel the depth of that hooliganism and it’s very unfair for the president to look at protesters, people who are tired of what’s going on in the nation to say something like that. That’s not the kind of language the president should be using.

“He has consistently over the years since he was elected denigrated Nigerians both in and outside of the country and every time he speaks it’s that tone he uses and it has to stop. The highest office of this nation is the office of the citizen.

“The office of the President is the highest political office in the land and we should always remember that we are not slaves to them, we put them there to serve us and that’s why they are called public servants,’ she said.

The interview got so heated that she was reportedly cut off air, however it the interruption was blamed on network issues.

Taken to her Twitter page, she went live and said that Buhari should not call Nigerians hooligans because he is the biggest hooligan in Nigeria.

“Imagine on her they are telling me that the president said Hooliganism.. who is the biggest hooligan in Nigeria?

“It is the president himself, if the President can come out and call me a citizen a hooligan, the same citizen that voted for him, the same citizen he was going around begging and crying,’ she said.
