Police Arrests Male And Female Pastors Over Alleged Extra-Marital Affairs In Adamawa
Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two pastors, Ebenezer Otinjele and Juliana Daniel, for allegedly having an extra-marital affair.
The two pastors, who both works at the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), were arrested on charges of adultery, causing abortion, criminal trespass and threat to life.
According to Premium Times, Otinjele is a pastor with Liberty International Gospel Centre in Yola while Juliana, who ministers at the Encouragement Fellowship International, is the wife to Eli Daniel, an official of the federal ministry of power in Abuja.
They were arrested after Juliana’s husband accused the duo of engaging in a sexual relationship and having two children together, although his wife made him believe that the two were his.
Daniel said his wife had worked under Otinjele when he was the business manager at the YEDC where he claimed they started having sex.
He also said he married her in 2002 and the union has been blessed with five children, “including the two she had with Ebenezer whom she made him to believe” belong to him.
“After our marriage, I secured a job for her in early 2016 where she was posted to Yola Business unit and later deployed to work in the office of the then business manager, Pastor Ebenezer,” Daniel was quoted as saying.
“This is where they started their extramarital relationship. After her deployment to the office of Ebenezer, they started having sexual intercourse to the extent of committing such an act in our matrimonial home at Mbamba.
“They go to the house when the children have gone to school, and that they sometimes send the children to buy something outside if they were at home so as to have space of time.”
He also claimed Mr Otinjele “took his wife to Jalingo for weekend on 15th September, 2016 where she left her male child she had with a 12-year-old house maid and that the child later fell sick and died suddenly in her absence.”
Mr Otinjele and Mrs Daniel are currently in police custody, but it is not clear how the police, which is legally empowered to handle criminal matters, is handling the civil issue.
The police said that investigation is ongoing on the matter, adding that it “will not hesitate to ensure that the law take its course through prosecution”.
