Another Missing Nigerian Student, Olisa Odukwe Found Dead In Bristol Habour, UK

Another Nigerian student in UK, Olisa Odukwe, declared missing since Saturday has been found dead.

A Nigerian student of the Bristol university, Olisa Odukwe, who was declared missing on Saturday, has been found dead in Bristol Habour, United Kingdom.

The police team which conducted the search, said that the body 20-year-old who was a member of the university football team, was recovered in Bristol Harbour on Tuesday afternoon, May 4.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Operatives of Avon and Somerset Police said they have informed Odukwe’s family that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Yesterday afternoon, police divers located and recovered the body of a man in Bristol Harbour, near Narrow Quay,” the statement reads.

“Police have informed the family of 20-year-old Mr. Odukwe, whose death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘While formal identification has not yet been carried out, we have updated the family of missing 20-year-old Bristol student Olisa Odukwe. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.”

 

The Bristol University said in a statement: “Our thoughts are with Olisa’s friends & family at this difficult time. Support is available to all students & staff affected by this news – please contact our wellbeing services for help, as well as seeking support directly from friends & family.”

Olisa Odukwe was the second Nigerian student to be reported dead this year after being declared missing in the United Kingdom.

On 7 April, 19-year-old Richard Okorogheye was found dead in a lake in Essex, affer he went missing from his home in Ladbroke Grove on Monday, 22 March.
