Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has condemned the brutal murder of Reverend Silas Yakubu Ali of the Evangelical Church of Winning All Church (ECWA), Kibori-Asha Wuce in Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of the state.Governor El-Rufai Expresses Sadness Over Brutal Murder Of ECWA Pastor In Kaduna

Rev. Silas Ali was reportedly macheted to death after he departed for Kafanchan on Saturday. His corpse was later discovered by a search party at Kibori community, near Asha-Awuce, on Sunday morning.

Reacting in a statement issued by Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, Governor El-Rufai expressed sadness over the killing of Rev Silas Ali, which he described as horrifying and cruel.

The governor said security agencies were conducting investigations in the general area with a view to arresting those behind the dastardly act.

“The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai expressed deep sadness at the report of the killing, which he described as horrifying and cruel. The Governor offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the cleric,” the commissioner said.

“Going further, Governor El-Rufai sent his condolences to the family of Reverend Silas Yakubu Ali, and to the ECWA Church in Kibori-Asha Awuce, as he prayed for God to grant them fortitude and comfort over this sudden and painful loss

“The Governor urged security agencies to intensify efforts towards apprehending the perpetrators of the heinous killing, while appealing to members of the community to maintain calm. Security agencies are conducting investigations in the general area.”
