The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has donated N50 million to victims of flooding at Kantin-Kwari market in Kano State.
Flood due to heavy downpour, had destroyed over N200 million worth of materials and about 200 shops were equally affected according to SEMA.
Speaking at the residence of former Kano governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, who defected from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to PDP on Monday, Atiku announced his donation to the victims, describing Kano as a renowned commercial centre.
He said, “We want to use this opportunity to sympathize with Kantin-Kwari market traders. We heard that flooding destroyed property at Kantin-Kwari today.
“Business in Kano was established in Kano and is still sustaining the city. We are going to send our N50 million assistance to the victims,” Atiku pledged.
KanyiDaily recalls that Ibrahim Shekarau said he will mobilize his supporters across the country to guarantee the victory of Atiku Abubakar by next year’s presidential election.
