This is time for newly registered Nigerians whose names were omitted or whose data were wrongly captured to go and verify.

The Labour Party presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to go and verify their names as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has began displaying Voters Register across the country.

INEC Displays Voters Register

Yesterday, the Lagos office of INEC said it has displayed voters register of newly registered voters in the state for claims and objections from members of the public.

The commission therefore urged all registered voters in the state to check through for any omission, correction and objection to any information on the register during the period.

The display of the voter register is part of the commission’s effort to clean up the voter register after the completion of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) which ended on July 31, before the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) is printed.

“The commission is poised to ensure a credible voter register for a successful electioneering process, particularly the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.

“The Commission is committed to making all votes count, to consolidate our democracy.”

Reacting to the development, Obi took to his official twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon to call on Nigerians to go and check whether their names were omitted or not properly captured.

“This week, INEC commenced the display of Voters Register for claims and objections. This is time for newly registered Nigerians whose names were omitted or whose data were wrongly captured to go and verify. The process will last for one week. -PO,” he tweeted.

Obi is contesting the 2022 presidential polls on the strength of his character and his promise to fix the Nigerian economy by preventing or avoiding waste of public resources.

He believes that when the economy is in good shape, then everything can fall into place.

He currently appears to enjoy the overwhelming support of youths and majority of Nigerians.
