The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has arrived in the United States for a bilateral meeting of the US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC).
KanyiDaily recalls that the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC) had invited Atiku for a bilateral meeting in Washington DC on Tuesday, November 1.
The former vice-president arrived in Washington D.C on Thursday night, October 27, for his visit to the US which is part of his political campaign.
Atiku travelled to the US alongside Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto governor and director-general of the PDP presidential campaign, as well as Emeka Ihedioha, former Imo state governor, and Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications.
He was welcomed by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Dino Melaye, a former Kogi senator, among others.
While in the US, Atiku would meet with the US Chamber of Commerce’s US-Africa Business Center (USAfBC). He is also expected to meet with Nigerians in the diaspora and members of the PDP in North America.
Among other issues to be thrashed out, Atiku is expected to hold an “off-the-record discussion” on how the US corporate community can best support Nigeria’s economic development.
KanyiDaily recalls that the ruling APC had claimed Atiku Abubakar would never be able to enter the US over money laundering allegations hanging on his neck.
