#EndSARSMemorial: Mr Macaroni, Falz Present As Police Teargas Youths At Lekki Tollgate

Nigerian comedian, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, and singer, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, were present at the #EndSARSMemorial procession at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

The memorial rally was organized to mark the second anniversary of the shooting at the tollgate during the #EndSARs protest.

On Thursday morning, the youths walked through the tollgate axis singing dirge songs while carrying mock coffins to commemorate the October 20, 2020 incident.

The rally, tagged ‘peace walk’, took a turn for the worse as police officers shot teargas canisters to disperse the participants.

Others present at the procession to mark the two years memorial of the Lekki shooting include Nigerian influencer, Feyikemi Abudu, popularly known as FK Abudu, alongside several youths.

A man, identified simply as Desmond Jacob, was picked up by the Nigerian Police Force.

He claimed that he was among peaceful protesters that converged at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020, the day of the shooting that led to the loss of lives of peaceful protesters.

Jacob could be seen kneeling down in front of the toll gate, crying, before police officers came and picked him up. After interrogation, he was released and asked to leave the toll gate.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari’s aide, Femi Adesina claims that the EndSARS protest “signifies murder, mayhem, mass destruction and even cannibalism.”
