The duo was arraigned by the Bayelsa State Police Command.

Lyon and Angase pleaded not guilty to the 14 count charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, and criminal felony preferred against them.

Given the plea, the prosecution counsel, Bayelsa State Director of Public Prosecution, Apulu Iyabosa said the briefs of the case were served on the defendant’s counsel and prayed for a trial date.

Lyon is known for his flamboyant lifestyle on social media.

Two months ago Nigerians were shocked to hear that the 30-year-old social media celebrity confessed to being involved in two kidnap incidents.

Lyon, who confessed to the crimes while being paraded by the police claimed that his gang members asked him to give them the address of his former boss, Danjuma Omeje,  and that a few days later, they kidnapped him and collected a ransom of N45 million from him.

He said that after the operation they gave him N1.5 million to take care of the medical bills of his mother who was sick and in the hospital.

Lyon, who is from the Akwagom-Eruan Community in Boki LGA of Cross River State, was arrested alongside Angase.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that former Kaduna State Senator, Shehu Sani declared the student of Federal University Dutse (FUD) in Jigawa State, Aminu Adamu Mohammed the “Man of the year 2022.”

Recall that Aminu Adamu Mohammed was arrested over a Twitter post he made against Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, where he wrote in the Hausa language “Su mama Anchi Kudin Talakawa an koshi”, meaning “Mama has fed fat on poor people’s money”.
