Why Chimaroke Nnamani Dumped PDP After Losing Senate Re-Election To LP

Chimaroke Nnamani announced his exit from the PDP in a statement he signed on Monday.

The senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Chimaroke Nnamani, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he lost his bid to return to the Senate.

Nnamani lost the red chambers bid to the candidate of the Labour Party (LP),
Kelvin Chukwu.

He expressed appreciation to his constituents for their unalloyed support over the years.

Chimaroke Nnamani announced his exit from the PDP in a statement he signed on Monday.

Recall that the former Enugu governor was on February 10, 2023, expelled by the PDP alongside some other key party members for alleged anti-party activities.

According to Nnamani in the statement, he had consulted with his associates and constituents alike and had decided to quit the PDP on account of irreconcilable differences with the national leadership of the party.

He further noted that he had moved on and hoped that his modest contributions to the development of his constituency would be the building block on which his successors could build.

While reaffirming his acquaintance with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, he promised to continue to partner with him.

The former governor also thanked Nigerians, especially the Ebeano political family, and urged them to remain steadfast in the years ahead.

He further expressed optimism that the Tinubu administration would promote good governance, rule of law, and human rights for the interest of all Nigerians.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has been declared the winner of the March 18th governorship election held in the state.

Abdullahi Sule who contested the poll under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored the highest number of votes during the elections.
