Bella Shmurda, who spoke during an interview with Cool FM Nigeria, said his self-confidence has propelled him to stand out in the competitive Nigerian music scene, earning him admiration from fans and peers alike.
Unlike some artists who seek collaborations to boost their careers, Bella Shmurda said that he relies on his exceptional talent and does not need to plead for joint projects.
Sharing a personal experience, Bella Shmurda recalled a time when a prominent artist rejected his request for collaboration just before releasing the song together.
Due to that past incident, the singer said he now chooses to collaborate only with individuals he shares strong connections and positive relationships with.
He said, “I don’t like teasing people [about my upcoming collaborations]. I have an experience; I made song with this person and when I was going to release the song they were like, ‘Yo, he is not ready.’
“Me I’m that kind of person that doesn’t like to get backlash from people. Me gon I get talent pass you, you just get name pass me. You fit just get name pass me but I get talent pass you.
“Personally, I don’t like to chase people. So people I work with are people I have connection with and we have a good relationship. And if not that, I do my thing on my own.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Bella Shmurda had revealed that people who made money through internet fraud, popularly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’ are not happy about their actions.
