Davido reacts as Rema beats him to win ‘Best Afrobeats Song’ at VMA

David Adeleke, nicknamed Davido, has congratulated teammate Rema on winning the inaugural “Best Afrobeats Song” category at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night in New Jersey, USA.

According to report, Rema won the award over Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and others.

Rema accepted his prize while recognising the contributions of Nigerian music legends such as Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid to afrobeats, which allowed the genre to reach a global audience.

Davido who attended the event, described Rema’s victory as “well deserved.”

On his X handle, he wrote; “Well deserved! Shine young King! @heisrema”
