Nigerian online personality, DJ Chicken has issued a public apology to Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid.

This comes after DJ Chicken’s controversial remarks, where he not only expressed ill wishes towards Wizkid but also disrespected the memory of the singer’s late mother, Jane Dolapo.

In a video circulating on social media, DJ Chicken can be seen vehemently criticizing Wizkid, asserting that the singer’s fortunes have irreversibly declined.  He went as far as suggesting that Wizkid’s music quality had deteriorated and predicted his imminent downfall.

DJ Chicken made inappropriate comments about Wizkid’s late mother, insinuating that the singer would soon join her in the afterlife. He also expressed disappointment with the singer over alleged financial grievances.

His offensive remarks sparked widespread condemnation on social media with many people calling for legal action against DJ Chicken, urging the authorities to arrest the online personality over his inflammatory statements.

Following the intense backlash, DJ Chicken took the initiative to release a new video, wherein he offered a heartfelt apology to Wizkid.

He appealed to the singer for forgiveness and requested that both parties move forward, putting the regrettable incident behind them.
