Burna Boy Mocks South Africans As White Model, Mia Le Roux Wins Miss SA 2024

Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy has reacted to the controversial outcome of the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant, where Mia Le Roux was crowned the winner.

The controversy started when Chidimma Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, was forced to withdraw from the competition due to bullying from some black South Africans who claimed she couldn’t represent them properly because of her background.

This led to criticism from Nigerians and other Africans, who mocked black South Africans for not being able to produce a black winner despite their objections to Adetshina’s participation.

Mia Le Roux, a model from the Free State, won the title on Saturday night at a glamorous event held at the Sun Bet Arena at Times Square in Menlyn, Pretoria.

The 28-year-old beat nine other finalists, including Layla Zoubair, Lebohang Khoza, Nompumelelo Maduna, Onalenna Constantin, Ontshiametse Tlhopane, Palesa Lombard, Taahira Katz, Kirsten Khan, and Kebalepile Ramafoko, to win the crown.

Le Roux also made history as the first model with a hearing impairment to be crowned Miss South Africa.

After Adetshina withdrew, Kirsten Khan and Kebalepile Ramafoko secured their spots in the top 10.

Burna Boy reacted to Mia Le Roux’s victory on Sunday by posting a photo of her on X with the caption, “So after all that… (laugh emoji),” without providing further context.
