The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo has cast his vote at Idionrio Primary School, Ward 1, Unit 3, in Ewohimi, Esan South East LGA.

KanyiDaily had reported that voting began around 11:45 AM following delays caused by the late arrival of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

While INEC officials arrived late, eager voters had been at the polling unit as early as 7 AM. Security personnel and journalists were also seen waiting for the process to begin.

Asue Ighodalo had voiced his dissatisfaction with the late arrival of electoral materials at his polling unit, Okaigben Ward 1, Unit 3.

The PDP governorship candidate, speaking to reporters after arriving at the center at 10:30 AM, also criticized the arrest of prominent party leaders in Uromi, Esan North East LGA.

The Edo State governorship elections are taking place today, with over 2.2 million permanent voter cards collected.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party candidate in the ongoing Edo State governorship election, Olumide Akpata, has cast his vote.
