This remix has now become the first Afrobeats song to surpass one billion views on YouTube.

In August 2023, “Calm Down Remix” also became the first African song to reach a billion streams on Spotify.

As of Saturday, November 9, 2024, a quick check confirmed that the video, uploaded just two years ago on Selena Gomez’s YouTube channel, has surpassed 1 billion views.

This achievement not only crowns it as the first Nigerian song to reach one billion views on YouTube, but also as the fastest African track to reach this view count on the platform.

The original “Calm Down” has also been a global hit, garnering over 619 million views on YouTube.

Since its remix release in August last year, the track has consistently shattered records, amassing over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify alone.
