Aisha Achimugu, the CEO of Felak Concept Group, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

She was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, around 5 a.m., at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after flying in from London.
Achimugu had been declared wanted by the EFCC about a month ago over allegations of money laundering and other related offenses.
Following the announcement that she was wanted, Aisha Achimugu filed a lawsuit to challenge what she called a violation of her rights.
Despite that legal move, her arrest happened just a day after her lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), told the Federal High Court in Abuja that she planned to report to the EFCC on Tuesday, April 29.
The court, presided over by Justice I.E. Ekwo, had also ordered her to appear before the anti-graft agency on Tuesday and be present in court on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Confirming the arrest, her lawyer, Chief Chikaosolu Ojukwu, stated that Aisha Achimugu returned to Nigeria voluntarily but was still picked up by EFCC officials.
He said, “Aisha Achimugu, who arrived voluntarily into the country from London, was arrested by the EFCC around 5 a.m. on Tuesday.”
He criticized the move as a violation of the court’s order and revealed that his client had started a hunger strike in protest, stating: “She is a prisoner of conscience.”
As of the time of filing this report, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale had not responded to calls or messages for comment.
KanyiDaily recalls that in 2024, Aisha Achimugu Foundation distributed food items, monetary benefits, and other essential gifts to over 1,000 vulnerable individuals in Kabusa, Abuja.
