VeryDarkMan recently received a seven-day ultimatum to apologize for criticizing Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s recent trip to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral.
The APC were displeased after he publicly called Akpabio’s trip shameful, especially with the country facing serious crises and widespread violence.
In a video response, VeryDarkMan started by apologizing — but not to the politicians or ruling party.
Instead, he apologized to the victims of herdsmen attacks across the country, stressing that if the country’s “irresponsible leaders” wouldn’t apologize to the people, he would do it on their behalf.
Taking things further, the activist also gave the government its own seven-day ultimatum, calling on them to tackle the herdsmen attacks affecting areas like Benue, Jos, and Enugu.
“First of all, I want to apologize to the people of Benue, to the people of Jos, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, and Edo state.
“To the people who have been victims of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria as a result of these irreponsible leaders that we have.
“Leaders with misplaced priorities that leave their own people that is dying in their farmlands and traveling to go for funeral of those that don’t even know them when they were alive, all because of their political movement.
“Since the irreponisile leaders will not apologize, I will apologize on their behalf. People dey kpai, them dey kill hundreds of your own, una no wake up one morning una go there.
“President sef no get mouth give statement, una get mind dey give me 7 days. I want to give you people 7 days to clamp down the herdsmen attack that is going on in Benue, Jos and Enugu….” he partly said.
VeryDarkMan also warned “The Punch” newspaper, slamming them for allegedly labeling him as someone known for blackmail, slander, and character assassination.
Sharing the video, he wrote: “My apology as requested by APC in regards to the video I made about senate president GODSWILL AKPABIO attended the pope’s funeral,I admit I would have done it better,I am so sorry.”
