The attack happened on Monday morning inside a housing unit at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, about 75 miles north of Los Angeles.

“Tory was stabbed 14 times – including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own.
“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through.
“He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support,” the statement added.
Pedro Calderón Michel, a spokesperson for the state’s corrections department, confirmed the incident happened around 7:20 a.m. local time.
Staff at the prison provided first aid before Lanez was taken to a nearby hospital for more treatment.
Authorities are still investigating what led to the stabbing, but no motive has been shared publicly.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence after being convicted in 2023 for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
The shooting took place after an argument as they left a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s home in Hollywood.
During the trial, Megan testified that she was shot in the foot after demanding to leave the car they were in.
The rapper said Lanez fired at the ground and told her to “dance.” She later had surgery to remove bullet fragments.
Tory Lanez has continued to deny the shooting and did not express remorse during sentencing.
The case caused a divide in the music industry, with several artists—including 50 Cent and Iggy Azalea—showing support for Lanez and asking the court for a lighter sentence.
Before his imprisonment, Lanez had a successful music career with seven top-10 albums in the U.S. He’s also hinted at dropping a new album from behind bars, titled “Peterson”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Tory Lanez’s wife, Raina Nancy Chassagne filed for divorce after less than a year of marriage, after he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
