A Magistrate Court in Bolade Oshodi has ordered 34 people to be remanded in prison until July 22, 2025, for selling goods illegally on the median of the Alaba Rago area along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The group, which includes 32 men and 2 women, was arrested over the weekend during a joint operation by the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

The operation was aimed at clearing the road median that had been taken over by traders who had set up illegal stalls and makeshift structures.

Among those arrested were individuals suspected of criminal activities who had been living in temporary shelters on the road.

Reacting to the situation, Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the government remains committed to cracking down on unlawful behavior.

He also called on residents to act responsibly and help keep Lagos clean and orderly.

KanyiDaily recalls that a Lagos resident, Olawale Ogunbadejo, was recently remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly dumping refuse on a public road.
