How Oshiomhole Assaulted Our Staff And Disrupted Flights At Lagos Airport  -  Air Peace

Nigeria’s biggest airline, Air Peace has accused Senator Adams Oshiomhole of disrupting its flight operations on Wednesday morning at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The airline issued a statement after a video went viral showing the former Edo State governor in a heated argument at the Zulu Terminal (Terminal 1), where he was seen blocking access to the terminal.

Though Air Peace didn’t mention Oshiomhole by name, it confirmed that a “prominent senator” arrived at the terminal around 6:10 a.m. to board Flight P47120 to Abuja, which was scheduled to take off at 6:30 a.m.

However, the boarding gate had already closed in line with the airline’s on-time departure policy, and the flight left as planned.

The airline claimed that after being informed he had missed his flight, the senator became aggressive, assaulted their staff, and blocked the terminal entrance, stopping other passengers from getting in.

To reduce delays and keep flights on schedule, Air Peace said it quickly switched to a backup plan by moving affected passengers to another terminal.

The airline expressed disappointment over Oshiomhole’s actions, calling it unacceptable for a public figure to behave that way.

They stressed that they have a zero-tolerance policy for any violence or threats toward their staff or passengers.

The statement reads: “In line with our standard on-time departure policy, the boarding process had closed, and the flight departed as scheduled.

“Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance.

“He went as far as sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, effectively obstructing other passengers from gaining entry into the terminal.

“This unacceptable behaviour caused significant disruption to ongoing operations and affected numerous travellers scheduled for various flights.

“To minimise further inconvenience, Air Peace swiftly activated an operational contingency plan to board affected passengers through an alternate terminal, ensuring the continuity of their travel plans.

“We are deeply saddened that such a high-profile figure displayed conduct so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel. Air Peace maintains a zero-tolerance stance on violence or any form of aggression against our staff and passengers.

“We urge all guests to remain civil and cooperative at all times. Aviation operations are bound by strict timelines and safety protocols, and we remain committed to upholding these standards while delivering safe and timely services to the Nigerian public.

“Air Peace continues to stand for discipline, integrity, and respect for due process. No individual, no matter how influential, is above these values.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Adams Oshiomhole recently called out journalist Reuben Abati, challenging him to settle their differences with a physical fight.
