Nigerian filmmaker and producer, Kayode Peters, has reportedly died at the age of 49.
According to reports, Kayode Peters died in Canada on Saturday morning, June 28, 2025.
The news was first shared by fellow filmmaker and founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, who posted the update on his Facebook page.
“Bad News emerging from Canada indicates Filmmaker Kayode Peters is dead,” he wrote.
Popular Instagram blogger Cutie Juls also announced the sad news, saying: “Sad, Kayode Peters, movie actor and producer, passed away in Canada this morning. May his soul rest in perfect peace”.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of death has not been made public, and there has been no official statement from Peters’ family or close friends.
KanyiDaily also reported that Ananda Lewis, best known for her time as an MTV VJ in the late 1990s, passed away at the age of 52.
