Shortly after Buhari’s death, DJ Switch posted on her Instagram story saying, “The sweet reality of inevitability. RIP MF. One down.”
Many interpreted her words as mocking and insensitive, leading to backlash with critics accusing her of lacking respect for the dead, regardless of political views.
Reacting in a video, the DJ defended her reaction and questioned why people were showing sympathy for someone who did more harm than good during his time in office.
“Please tell me what is Buhari’s achievement apart from destroying Nigeria. When you are a bad leader, people will drink to your demise, but when you lead with fairness, people will mourn when you die,” she said.
DJ Switch added, “I don’t need to prove my empathy to anybody. When I saw that news, it was like justice. Next on the list, T-Pain, how far?
