Following her win on Monday night, Sarina Wiegman playfully asked that Afrobeats star Burna Boy should join her in a dance to celebrate the milestone.
Wiegman, who led the Lionesses to Euro 2025 victory in Switzerland, England’s first major international trophy abroad used her acceptance speech to thank players, staff, and family before adding a lighter note.
“Let’s celebrate our successes too, and if Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a little bit of dancing too,” she said to applause.
Burna Boy quickly responded on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “haha, I’m up for it Sarina! A huge congrats to you and the team #Lionesses.”
The exchange has delighted fans online, sparking memories of Wiegman’s admiration for the Nigerian singer.
KanyiDaily also reported that Nigeria’s Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was named the fourth-best goalkeeper in the world at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony.
