Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed his elder brother, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, as the first Emir of the newly established Duguri Emirate.

The announcement was made on Friday when the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aminu Hammayo, presented the official appointment letter to the new emir on behalf of the governor.
The brief ceremony took place at the Duguri palace in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
During the presentation, Hammayo urged the new emir to work closely with the government in promoting peace, unity, and development across the state.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for the trust placed in him and prayed for God’s continued guidance for the governor.
He pledged to remain loyal to the Bauchi State Government and the Bauchi Emirate Council, promising to rule with fairness and ensure harmony among his people.
Similarly, the SSG also presented a letter of appointment to Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan, the newly appointed Emir of Bununu Emirate.
While congratulating him, Hammayo advised the new monarch to rule in line with the law and continue to promote peace and cooperation within his domain.
In response, Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan expressed appreciation to Governor Mohammed for the confidence shown in him and promised to serve his people with dedication and integrity.
