Trump Claims Iran Has Been Totally Defeated, Vows He Won’t Accept Any Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that Iran had been “totally defeated” in the joint U.S.–Israeli military operations against the country.

He also claimed that Iran was now seeking an agreement, but said it was not one he would agree to, even as Iranian leaders insisted they would continue fighting.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized the media and praised the U.S. military’s performance in the conflict.

“The Fake News Media hates to report how well the United States Military has done against Iran, which is totally defeated and wants a deal – But not a deal that I would accept!” Trump wrote.

Trump’s remarks followed his earlier statement that U.S. forces had carried out major airstrikes on military targets at Iran’s oil hub on Kharg Island.

He also said the U.S. Navy would soon start escorting oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the ongoing U.S. attacks, Iran responded by launching another round of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and some countries in the Gulf region.

At the same time, several senior Iranian officials joined a large pro-government rally in Tehran on Friday.

Protesters marched through the city carrying banners with messages such as “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said earlier this week that negotiations with the United States were no longer being considered and that military actions would continue as long as necessary.

“I don’t think talking with the Americans would be on our agenda anymore,” Araghchi said during an interview with PBS News, adding that Iran had a “very bitter experience” during past negotiations with Washington.
