VeryDarkMan Slams Sowore As He Reconciles With Blord In Court [Video]

Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), appeared to have settled his differences with businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, also known as Blord.

Both men showed signs of reconciliation during a court appearance on Monday.

Following the court session, VeryDarkMan was seen outside exchanging handshakes and smiles with Blord, suggesting that tensions between them may have eased.

However, VeryDarkMan blamed activist Omoyele Sowore for the dispute dragging on.

He said the issue could have been resolved earlier but insisted he continued the case to prove a point to Sowore.

According to him, it was more about pride and showing that he could stand his ground.

Ordinarily, like I said, this case would have come to an end but because of Sowore… to show him that I am a man, it’s a thing of pride. It’s not about him or anybody; it’s about Sowore, who thinks I cannot do anything. It’s about showing Sowore that he cannot do anything,” VDM said.

Meanwhile, the court proceedings took an unexpected turn when the judge handling the case stepped aside.

One of the lawyers involved, Chikezie Elijah, confirmed that both the prosecution and defence teams were present and ready to proceed before the judge announced her decision to withdraw from the case.

Well, the matter was on trial, and we all know that the case has been in the public domain. Today, the defendant was in court, the prosecution and defence teams were all in court, and we informed the court that we were ready,” he said.

“However, the judge, in a most unlikely event, decided to inform that she would be recusing herself from this case and would send the file to the Chief Judge for reassignment. It was a most unexpected event. To the best of my knowledge, there was no formal application.”

Elijah said that the decision might be linked to the need to protect the integrity of the court, especially given the public attention and heated discussions surrounding the case on social media.

It is presumed that the court decided to adjourn and send the file back to the Honourable Chief Judge, and this only happens when there is a form of the integrity of the judicial process being tainted in a bad light, just to preserve public confidence—especially with the fact that there has been a lot of social media ranting and name-calling, so it is not too surprising,” he said.

Elijah added that the case has now been postponed until May 19 for further mention.

The issue later became a legal matter when Blord was charged in court on April 1, 2026, over allegations of impersonation, forgery, and conspiracy. He denied all the charges.

In mid-April, Sowore became involved after Blord was detained, criticising the situation as a human rights issue.

KanyiDaily recalls that Blord was granted bail on April 17, with conditions that included submitting his international passport.
