It was gathered that the tragic incident happened on May 27 along Ojo Street in Ogida.
Esohe had reportedly gone there to help a friend decorate a venue for a burial ceremony.
After completing the task, she was said to have encountered a group of unknown individuals.
What started as an argument soon turned into a physical attack.
Eyewitnesses said she was dragged along the road during the altercation and suffered serious injuries.
She was taken to University of Benin Teaching Hospital for treatment but later died from a severe machete wound.
Her brother, who spoke about the incident, described the desperate attempts made to keep her alive.
He said, “It was a machete cut. After about 30 minutes, I even donated two pints of blood for her.”
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Esohe Aigbe did not survive.
Her remains have since been deposited at the mortuary.
At the time of filing this report, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Eno Ikoedem, has not released any statement about the case.
