Henry Okoye, an elder brother of P-Square singers Peter and Paul Okoye, has spoken about the long-running dispute within the family, saying he is not sure the twins can fully repair their relationship.

"Jude Is A Bad Person, I Don’t Know if He Used Juju On Paul" - PSquare’s Elder Brother, Henry Okoye

Henry made the comments during an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family home in Plateau State on Friday.

He said Peter had made efforts to settle the disagreement but expressed doubts that the brothers would return to the close relationship they had before their feud.

Henry also appealed to Paul to consider ending the disagreement with Peter, recalling how both twins supported him when he spent about two months in hospital last year.

The family dispute involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, has continued for years, with different members of the family now speaking publicly about the situation.

Henry, who said he had never previously discussed the family’s problems publicly, accused Jude of contributing to divisions within the family.

The elder brother also called on Jude to play a role in bringing Peter and Paul back together.

He said he had watched parts of Peter’s video series about the family dispute but noted that he could only speak about matters he personally witnessed.

He said, “When Paul and Peter started running away from the family, we never knew that it was Jude causing the problem. Jude is not a good person. He’s my brother, but he’s very bad. I’m telling you the truth: Jude is very bad. I’m just telling the truth, he’s very bad. He’s not a nice person.

“Let me tell you, for almost a year to two years now, I haven’t talked to Jude, and he hasn’t talked to me. Even when I was sick in the hospital last year— I was admitted for two months, Jude knew.

“Peter used to call me. Paul used to call me. Jude never called me, not once. Jude doesn’t care about anybody. Look at my sister, she’s in Lagos, and she’s suffering there. Our last-born is also in Lagos, but nobody cares about her. Jude doesn’t care. I said nobody cares about her.

“Peter is trying, at least. But especially Jude, let me set Paul aside for now, because I don’t know if Jude used juju on Paul. I don’t know; I can’t tell. If you come into the Okoye family, in our family, Paul is the nicest person.”

Henry further claimed that he played an important role during P-Square’s early years before the group became successful.

He said he helped finance the duo when they were struggling to find sponsors and travelled with them to different states for performances.

He also said he worked as their security personnel and used his car to help distribute promotional materials.

When they started this music, they were looking for sponsors. We couldn’t get one, so I started sponsoring them. Jude was not there at that time.

“Even when Baseline Ages came to Jos looking for artists, I took them to the stadium for the performance. They came first. We travelled from state to state for music. At one point, they even used my car to distribute flyers.

“When we travelled to Abuja, my sister, the one they call Lillian, was always the one collecting the gate fee. I served as a bodyguard for them, along with some of my friends.

“After everything was set up, before they started making real money, Jude suddenly came in, wanting to manage them”, he said.

He claimed their mother initially opposed Jude becoming the group’s manager because she was familiar with his character.

Henry said another family member later persuaded her to allow Jude to take on the role.

My mother disagreed. It was our senior brother in P-Square who begged my mother to allow Jude to manage them. My mother said she knew the kind of person Jude was; she knew his character well,” he said.

Henry also alleged that Peter and Paul had promised to give him 20 per cent of the earnings from their songs because of the financial support he provided when they were starting out.

He said he never received the money despite raising the issue several years later.

Henry noted, “Before they started all this, they promised me 20 per cent of each song’s earnings. Nobody ever gave me that. After three or four years, I asked them about it, and I never received anything. I told them I hadn’t seen any of the 20 per cent they promised.

“Jude eventually cut in and said, “What do you mean, 20 per cent — for what?” He said something like: they’re the ones flying to different countries, and if their plane ever crashed, I’d just be sitting comfortably at home.

“When he said it, I responded, “Jude, were you there when we started this?” But he came in and tried to push everyone else away, and unfortunately, he succeeded.

” Tony is one of their dancers; he’s also P-Square’s senior brother, one of my own brothers, Tony Okoye. He’s in Lagos, but nobody hears from him, nobody at all.

“This is the first time I’m speaking out, the first time, ever, on social media, even though we share the same father and mother.”
