Pastor Slumps And Dies Shortly After Following Another Cleric To Defect To APC In Edo

Pastor Aimola John slumped and died shortly after defecting to APC.

Pastor Aimola John, on Thursday, reportedly slumped and died shortly after joining Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.

The deceased was a former chairmanship candidate for Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

He left APC in 2015 along with his political godfather and boss, Pastor Ize Iyamu, and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ize-Iyamu was expelled by the PDP recently and this fuelled their move back to the APC.

Aimola was among former PDP members that returned to the APC at the residence of Ize-Iyamu. There, he was said to have slumped shortly after making the pronouncement and he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Confirming his death last night, a former Secretary of Owan East, Mr. Godwin Imoudu, said late Aimola was in Benin to defect to the APC.
