Nollywood actress and multi-award winning TV personality, Rachel Bakam has died after a brief illness at a private hospital in Abuja.
Bakam, who hailed from Fadia Tudun Wada in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, died on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 39.
The actress’s death was confirmed by her immediate younger brother, Bakam Adams Junior, in a telephone interview with Punch.
“Yes, the news is true. She was admitted last Friday. She died today (Tuesday) after a brief illness at about noon at a private hospital in Abuja,” Junior said.
“Rach, as we fondly called her, was a very likeable person, selfless, hardworking and God-fearing. She was very sacrificial. Her death has devastated us. I am yet to come to terms with it. I cannot tell you much.”
Bakam was the CEO and Managing Director of Rayzeds Media Ltd, Founder & President of the Nigerian Water Ski And Wakeboard Federation (NWWF). Those she left behind to mourn her are a son, mother, three brothers and many relations.
Her death death comes barely 72 hours after the desth of a veteran Nollywood actor, Bruno Iwuoha, who died at the age of 68 after a prolonged battle with diabetes.
