Kebbi State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Honourable Ismail Abdulimuminu Kamba and his Deputy Muhammadu Buhari Aliyu.
The clerk to the house, Usman Ahmad Bunza, announced the impeachment after 20 out of the 24 members endorsed it at the plenary sitting on Tuesday.
Bunza said that the two house leaders were found to have committed impeachable offence hence, the reason to relieve them of their post with immediate effect.
The clerk said the lawmakers later elected Muhammad Lolo, member representing Bagudo West, and Muhammad Zuru, member Zuru constituency, as the new speaker and deputy respectively and were immediately sworn in.
KanyiDaily had also reported how a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole tied the nuptial knot with Miss Aisha Shinkafi Saidu, daughter of the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.
