No less than 15 persons have been kidnapped by some gunmen who attacked Kulho village of Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.
Niger police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, said the incident happened on January 14, at about 2 a.m
According to him, the attackers also stormed Mashegu through Jigawa state and carted away a yet-to-be-verified number of cattle on the same day.
Abiodun said a team of security operatives have been deployed to conduct a search-and-rescue operation for the abductees.
“We solicited the support of local residents to volunteer reliable information that could aid in apprehending the miscreants,” he said
KanyiDaily had also reported how gunmen suspected to be bandits abducted the Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Idris Mohammed, at his residence at Baban Tunga, Tafa local government area of the state.
