Police has confirmed the explosion at a Catholic Church in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command has broken silence following an explosion that rocked St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

KanyiDaily had reported that the blast claimed the lives of many persons and left several others injured.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, 5th June during service which stirred panic and unrest among residents of the area.

According to Daily Post, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Odunlami Ibukun confirmed the incident after being contacted.

The PPRO said details of the casualties would be communicated in an official statement shortly.

In her words:

“We are currently at the scene of the incident to access damages made. It is not like what has been trending on social media. We will soon issue a statement to give you details of what happened.”

Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress, APC has revealed what President Buhari discussed with the presidential candidates on Saturday night, 4th June.
