EFCC Arrests Chinese For Suspected Illegal Mining In Ilorin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says its Ilorin zonal command has arrested a 29-year-old Chinese: Gang Deng, for suspected illegal mining in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Chinese Arrested For Suspected Illegal Mining

Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

The statement said Deng was arrested on Friday, September 9, 2022 and found to be in possession of crude minerals without authority.

The statement also added that A truck load of minerals suspected to be lepidolite was recovered from him.

The suspect, according to the statement, will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that the anti-graft agency arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo Boys in Benin City and recovered five expensive cars and mobile phones from them.
