UNIZIK Student Shot Dead By Armed Robbers While Trying To Recover Sim Card From Stolen Phone

A 200-level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Daniel Ugochukwu, has been killed by armed robbers in his apartment at Success lodge in Ifite.

The deceased, who is a student of Philosophy, was shot dead by the gunmen while trying to recover his SIM card from his stolen phone during the robbery attack.

The armed robbers were said to have ran for their lives after shooting Daniel in the stomach.

The student was rushed to the hospital where he later died due to excessive loss of blood.

Reacting to the incident, Anambra police command via its Twitter handle said: “This is unfortunate, I got this information from the SUG president, yesternight.

“I have also escalated to the DPO covering the area. Police patrol has been on since then. I urge the witness of the incident to help us with information, please.”
