#NigeriaDecides2023: Thugs Destroyed Ballot Boxes, Papers, Slapped Me Several Times – Music Journalist, Joey Akan

Nigerian entertainment Journalist, Joey Akan has claimed that some political thugs have destroyed ballot boxes and thrown away the ballot papers at Oba Elegushi in the ongoing 2023 general election.

Joey Akan disclosed this in tweets on his official Twitter handle a moment ago.

Nigerians across the country are voting today, February 25th elect a new president and members of the national assembly.

According to Joey Akan, the political thugs also slapped him a couple of times for fighting back.

He said he got pulled from the melee, into a house for his safety.

The music journalist said he had to be smuggled out of the voting area because he had been marked.

In a follow-up post, he revealed in one of the photos, the ballot papers were thrown away, showing a vote for the Labour Party (LP).

He captions the post, “See our votes. APC, you will crumble.”

He wrote, “Thugs have destroyed ballot boxes and threw away the ballot papers at Oba Elegushi.

“I collected a couple of slaps for fighting back before I got pulled from the melee, into a house for my safety.

“Now I have to be smuggled out of the voting area because I have been marked.”

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar voted in his hometown of Adamawa as he expressed optimism about succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.
