JUST IN: Three NSCDC Personnel Killed By Gunmen In Imo

Reports say the incident happened at EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state

Three personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been killed by some unknown gunmen in Imo State.

Reports say the incident happened at EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state.

As a result, the community has been thrown into panic.

This was disclosed to newsmen by a source who does not want his name mentioned.

The source disclosed that the slain corps were attacked in the early hours of Monday.

According to him, the three NSCDC personnel were riding in a vehicle when they were ambushed and killed by their attackers.

He noted that security operatives had taken over the community.

The source said, “Three operatives of the NSCDC were killed last night at EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community in the Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State. They were ambushed while in their vehicle. Their bodies have not been evacuated as we speak. Soldiers have taken over the community.”

The incident was also confirmed by the Imo State Police Command.

Spokesman of the command, Henry Okoye, said security operatives had moved into the community and restored normalcy.

The police image maker promised to issue a statement on the incident later.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that ex-Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the death of Former Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lt General Oladipo Diya.

Diya, who was CGS under the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha died in the early hours of Sunday.
