Bauchi Implements Cashless Transactions To Combat Educational Corruption

The Bauchi State government has implemented cashless transactions to tackle corruption in the state’s educational system.

The state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, revealed this during the opening of a two-day education summit yesterday at the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Camp, Bauchi.

Convened by the State Ministry of Education, the summit aims to devise strategies to tackle the persisting educational challenges that previous administrations were unable to resolve

Governor Mohammed highlighted that corrupt practices have significantly hindered educational advancement in the state.

“We have implemented modern tools such as the cashless policy and online transfers for all education-related payments. This reduces cash exchanges that may lead to theft or misappropriation of funds.

“In addition, this not only ensures the efficiency of financial transactions but also allows for the prompt punishment of individuals engaged in malpractice,” he said

He stated that his government has focused extensively on integrating Almajiri children into formal education by engaging 5000 facilitators.

Moreover, they’ve collaborated with SUBEB, the Ministry of Education, BESDA, and UNICEF to manage four Tsangaya schools.

Kanyi Daily recalls that the incumbent Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed had been declared winner of the governorship election in the state.
