Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has appointed legendary singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, as his technical adviser on entertainment and community outreach.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a meeting between the governor and the 49-year-old singer.
Governor Alia praised 2face’s influence in the entertainment industry and his efforts to uplift lives within and beyond the state.
He said the singer’s new role would involve helping to engage young people and support community development in Benue.
He added that 2Baba’s support for his administration, especially as the 2027 elections approach, has not gone unnoticed.
Alia said it was only fitting to give him an official role in shaping entertainment and outreach efforts in the state.
“You have contributed a lot of quarters to different areas including outside the states,” he said.
“Let me thank you very uniquely for supporting my administration and for preparing me for 2027 and I feel it will not be out of place at all because you’re a guru of entertainment. Once you say 2face, people start dancing even without a song. So we are happy you are here.”
“On behalf of the Benue state government and our very good people, we want to give you some more responsibilities plus the ones you have been doing because you have the capacity to do some more.
“You can help us chart the way forward to improve other people’s lives and to gain from your wisdom and advisement as well.
“So I am pleased to announce that we will make you a technical adviser to the governor on entertainment and community outreach.
This appointment comes just months after 2face went public with his separation from wife Annie Idibia.
He later confirmed his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in Edo State, and even proposed to her in February.
KanyiDaily recalls that Natasha Osawaru recently introduced herself with 2face Idibia’s surname during a plenary session at the Edo state House of Assembly.
