The Nigerian Police have issued a wanted notice for Ihuoma Nneji, daughter of ABC Transport boss Frank Nneji, over alleged cybercrime offences.
This announcement comes a few months after Ihuoma filed a defamation suit against social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
VeryDarkMan had earlier accused her of falsely portraying herself as a U.S.-based travel nurse, claiming she was actually working as a care assistant.
The activist also alleged that she made damaging accusations against her ex-husband, Henry Uzochukwu.
In a bulletin released on Tuesday, April 15, through the Nigeria Police Force’s X (formerly Twitter) pages, Ihuoma was declared wanted for “criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking.”
The police report, signed by the Office of the Inspector-General, directed anyone who finds her to contact the nearest police station or report to the NPF-NCCC headquarters in Abuja. Her last known address is listed as Victoria Garden City in Lagos.
While full details are still unclear, police sources claim that Ihuoma was involved in an online smear campaign sometime between August and September 2024.
The billionaire daughter is accused of trying to blackmail and harass a businessman based in Abuja.
The situation gained public attention after VeryDarkMan called her out on social media, demanding she delete her posts and issue an apology to the unnamed man.
In a video that went viral, he said: “You have 24 hours to take down that post and apologise. If you don’t, I’ll release evidence to show the truth.”
It’s not known whether Ihuoma Nneji ever responded, but she has not been seen since and is still on the run.
Police are urging anyone with information to help track her down.
At the time of filing this report, Frank Nneji and the rest of the family have not made any public statements about the matter.
KanyiDaily recalls that VeryDarkMan recently accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of allegedly extorting DJ Tunez, a close associate of Wizkid, and popular singer Terry Apala.
