Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff .F. Oborevwori, and the unwavering support of Her Excellency Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, Delta State continues to lead Africa in youth-centered sustainable development.
From August 4–8, 2025, over 80 children from across the state’s three senatorial zones gathered in Sapele for the second edition of the Delta State SDGs Summer Camp, themed: “From Awareness to Action.”
The camp was organized through the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, led by Lady Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette, and it built on the momentum of the state’s historic 2024 debut, empowering children with tools, knowledge, and confidence to become bold SDG champions.
🔹 Highlights of This Year’s Camp Included:
– Waste-to-Wealth climate action workshops by FUPRE
– Full healthcare services and wellness education from the Delta State Ministry of Health
First aid training by the Red Cross
– Mental health awareness sessions by DEEVOICE.
– Drug prevention outreach by the NDLEA.
– Entrepreneurship training led by John Iyoha
– AI, crochet, and modeling sessions by Queen Success (Queen of Delta State 33)
– Leadership and character-building sessions by Scout representatives.
– Faith-based sessions and prayers by CAN Delta State Chapter.
– Live media engagement via Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS) and Megastar Media.
– More Through SDGs Kids Radio” – a live, child-led radio production.
– A thought-provoking debate on “The Role of Citizens in Community Development and Peace”.
– A thrilling statewide Chess Tournament led by Francis Eyo-Enoette (Camp Director) and Abolade, themed “Brains & Wit”
A defining moment was the one-year scholarship awarded by CPIM to out-of-school children—a powerful demonstration of SDG 4: Quality Education in real-time action.
