Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Wizkid Nominated For 2026 Grammy Awards [Full List]

The Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Unveiled on Friday, this year’s nominations highlight a strong African presence, with Nigerian stars Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr all competing in the Best African Music Performance category.

The ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrating music released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.

The 2026 edition also comes with a few changes, including two new categories — Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover.

Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with nine nods, while Lady Gaga follows with seven, making her the most-nominated female artist this year. Gaga also scores her fifth Album of the Year nomination for “MAYHEM.”

Sabrina Carpenter earns her second straight Album of the Year nomination for “Man’s Best Friend.”

The Best New Artist lineup features rising stars such as KATSEYE, Olivia Dean, Addison Rae, Leon Thomas, and Sombr.

African musicians made an impressive showing overall, with nine artists across the Global and African music categories.

Burna Boy leads the African contingent with two nominations — Best African Music Performance for “Love” and Best Global Music Album for “No Sign of Weakness.”

Other Nigerian nominees include Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, joined by celebrated artists from across the continent such as Angélique Kidjo from Benin, Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, South Africa’s Tyla, and Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour.

Nigeria stands out in the Best African Music Performance category with Burna Boy’s “Love,” Davido’s “With You” featuring Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr’s “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid.

Other nominees include “Hope & Love” by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, and “PUSH 2 START” by Tyla.

In the Best Global Music Album race, Burna Boy’s “No Sign of Weakness” goes head-to-head with Youssou N’Dour’s “Eclairer le Monde (Light the World),” Angélique Kidjo’s “Jerusalema,” and Anoushka Shankar’s “Chapter III: We Return to Light.”
