The clash began on Tuesday after Isaac Fayose described Igbos as the greediest ethnic group in Nigeria.
He also criticized some Igbo elites, including Cubana Chief Priest, for aligning with President Bola Tinubu.
Reacting on Instagram, Chiefpriest accused Fayose of being envious and unreasonable, stating that his political choices were deliberate and part of a wider plan.
In response, Fayose shared a video where he spoke about his business activities in London and Nigeria dating back to the 1990s.
He questioned how Chiefpriest built his wealth so quickly and suggested that the source of the socialite’s riches is unclear.
Fayose claimed he had been associated with influential figures long before Chiefpriest became well-known.
He went further to say that in a country with strict financial checks, Cubana Chiefpriest would likely be in jail.
He compared the situation to that of convicted internet fraudster Hushpuppi, arguing that unexplained wealth should raise concerns.
According to him, if proper systems were in place, certain individuals would have questions to answer about how they made their money.
“If we were in a normal country where they check wealth, you would be in jail by now. Hushpuppi did more than you. He is now in prison in the US. We do not know the source of your wealth,” he said.
Isaac Fayose also stood by his earlier remarks about ethnicity and did not withdraw his statement.
The ongoing exchange has sparked debate online with some users supporting Fayose, while others defended Chief Priest and rejected the accusations made against him.
