“She Assaulted Me & Refused To Borrow Me Money” – Ilebaye’s Father Reveals Why He Beat Her

Emmanuel Odiniya, father of Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has opened up about the misunderstanding between him and his daughter.

Ilebaye’s father accused her of assaulting him and refusing to support him financially during a health challenge.

His comments came after he was arrested over an alleged assault involving the reality TV star at their home in Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja.

The matter gained public attention on Saturday after an online video showed Ilebaye crying and asking for help, with visible swelling on her face during the incident.

In an audio message shared on social media by journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme on Sunday, Mr Odiniya addressed the situation while reportedly receiving treatment in an Abuja hospital.

Speaking in the recording, he explained that he played a key role in helping Ilebaye secure victory during the BBNaija All Stars show.

According to him, he used his connections and influence to mobilise massive support for her across Kogi State and other parts of the country.

He said: “I saw a lot of things going wrong with her when it comes to the issue of appreciating what they did for you when you were in Big Brother.

“I used my influence seriously to make people of Kogi State and all over vote massively for my daughter. Even governors of some states and my colleagues donated money which was used in buying the IUC.”

Mr Odiniya claimed he expected Ilebaye to show gratitude to the people and groups who supported her success after the reality show ended, especially members of the Kogi community, but she failed to do so.

He also accused his daughter of repeatedly disrespecting and insulting him despite being one of his favourite children.

According to him, there were times arguments between them became physical, alleging that Ilebaye assaulted him during some disagreements.

The father further claimed that the reality TV star once encouraged him to separate from her mother.

He also accused her of exposing her younger brother to substance abuse, which he said later affected the boy’s behaviour in school.

Speaking on the recent disagreement that allegedly led to the altercation, Mr Odiniya said he had approached his daughter for financial help ahead of a planned medical trip to Dubai.

He explained that he only asked her to lend him money temporarily because funds he was expecting had not arrived, but she allegedly refused.

The man added that shortly before then, he saw videos of Ilebaye spraying large amounts of cash at the wedding of her colleague, Cross.

He said: “The most recent one that I was not happy about was when I was supposed to go for medical check-up in Dubai. I told my daughter, ‘I’m lacking resources, please borrow me a certain amount of money, the money I’m expecting hasn’t come.’ My daughter told me she doesn’t have money.

“A week before that, come and see how my daughter was spraying bundles of money at the wedding of one of her colleagues whom they call Cross.”

He added: “That is not the problem. I will be happy if my daughter supports her colleagues, but what about your father? If you help your father, is anything wrong?”
