American media personality DJ Akademiks has weighed in on the viral video involving Burna Boy’s Bugatti Chiron, after the luxury car was reportedly seen struggling on a Lagos road.
Akademiks, who has frequently shown admiration for Burna Boy, said he had noticed the Afrobeats star using the high-end vehicle around Lagos. He identified the car as a Bugatti Chiron and referred to its value as running into several million dollars.
His reaction changed, however, after he came across footage showing the supercar apparently getting stuck, with several people surrounding it.
Akademiks expressed surprise at the development and questioned whether the expensive vehicle had suffered any damage.
He also pointed to the online jokes surrounding Burna Boy’s decision to drive such an expensive and low-clearance car on Lagos roads, where potholes and uneven surfaces are common. Some social media users had speculated that the underside of the vehicle could have been affected.
Reacting to another clip showing a crowd gathered around the car, Akademiks described the scene as unusual, likening the Bugatti to a spaceship because of the attention it attracted.
Despite the concern, he congratulated Burna Boy for finally acquiring the luxury car, noting that the singer had previously spoken about wanting to own a Bugatti.
Akademiks ended by celebrating the achievement and acknowledging that Burna Boy had eventually fulfilled that long-held ambition.
