The Cross River State House of Assembly has elected Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem as the 10th Speaker of the assembly.

Ayambem, who represents Ikom 2 State Constituency.

He was elected unopposed on Tuesday.

Hon Sylvester Agabi representing Obudu State Constituency was elected Deputy Speaker.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio has been elected the senate president of the 10th national assembly.

Similarly, Tajudeen Abass representing the Zaria federal constituency of Kaduna State has been elected the new Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 10th assembly.
