Bala Mohammed Denies Leaving APM To Run As Goodluck Jonathan’s PDP Running Mate
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has denied rumours claiming he plans to leave the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to run as the vice-presidential candidate to former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2027 elections.

The governor was reacting to claims spreading online that he was being considered for the position under a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The speculation grew after a PDP faction led by Kabiru Turaki announced Jonathan as its presidential candidate for 2027 during a special convention in Abuja.
Although Jonathan did not attend, his certificate of return was collected by Fred Agbedi.
Responding to a post on X by Nuhu Sada suggesting he could be Jonathan’s running mate, Mohammed described the report as untrue and baseless.
He made it clear that his attention is on contesting the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in 2027 under the APM.
“Thank you for your interest in my political aspirations. However, for the sake of clarity, my focus remains firmly on contesting for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM),” Mohammed stated.
He also urged the public to ignore any reports suggesting otherwise, describing them as inaccurate and speculative.
“Any reports suggesting a different political course should be disregarded as speculative and inaccurate,” the governor added
His statement comes as political discussions and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.
KanyiDaily recalls that the PDP led by Kabiru Turaki recently announced Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the 2027 general election.
